DUE TO THE GROWTH OF OUR, OUR SCHOOL AND OUR OUR MISSION TO MAKE DISCIPLES FOR JESUS IN OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY AND PROVIDE A TRULY COST EFFECTIVE OPTION TO OUR MILITARY POPULATION IN OUR CHURCH, WHICH IS OVER 75% MILITARY FAMILIES.
WE SET OUT TO START TO START A SCHOOL THAT WAS A COST EFFECTIVE, SPECIFICALLY CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP, DISCIPLESHIP SCHOOL. AND SO THAT'S WHAT WE DID, AND THAT'S WHAT WE HAVE.
WE ARE AT A 200 PLUS STUDENT CAPACITY, CURRENTLY OPERATING OUT OF OUR CHURCH LOCATION HERE IN HARKER HEIGHTS, WHICH IS LOCATED RIGHT OFF OF 4.39 AND 3219. AND ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE'VE BEEN PRAYING SPECIFICALLY FOR IS FOR AN OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO MOVE TO A EXISTING FACILITY TO AVOID THE COST OF BUILDING FROM SCRATCH.
WE'VE BEEN RAISING FUNDS SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS PURPOSE, AS IT WILL ALLOW US TO SAY YES TO MORE FAMILIES THAT ARE SEEKING A CHRIST CENTERED EDUCATION, SPECIFICALLY IN THE COMMUNITY. THAT'S THE MISSION THAT WE SET OUT TO ACCOMPLISH THREE YEARS AGO.
IT'S THE ONE THAT I BELIEVE WE'VE WELL ACHIEVED.
THE LIMITING FACTOR FOR OUR SCHOOL CURRENTLY IS JUST THAT.
WE HAVE A GREAT INTEREST AND WOULD LIKE TO BRING IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE BOARD THAT WE WOULD LIKE TO BE CONSIDERED AS A POTENTIAL BUYER, OR AT LEAST A LEASER IN THE INTERIM, AS THE DISTRICT TRIES TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO DO WITH SAID PROPERTY.
EASTERN HILLS MIDDLE SCHOOL IS LOCATED LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES FROM OUR CURRENT LOCATION.
WOULD ALLOW US, AS A SCHOOL, TO CONTINUE TO EXPAND, TO SERVE THE STUDENTS THAT WE BELIEVE GOD HAS CALLED US TO SERVE, AS WELL AS PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE DISTRICT TO DO SOMETHING WITH THE PROPERTY THAT IS EITHER GOING TO SIT IDLE OR EVENTUALLY BE SOLD OFF.
AND SO I JUST WANTED TO BRING THAT TO THE CONSIDERATION OF THE BOARD.
WE REALLY BELIEVE THAT GOD HAS CALLED US TO HELP THE FAMILIES IN THE LOCAL AREA FOR PRIVATE SCHOOLS.
WE'RE A LITTLE OVER 50% OF WHAT THE TYPICAL STATEWIDE AVERAGE IS FOR PRIVATE SCHOOL TUITION.
BECAUSE WE KNOW THE AREAS THAT WE LIVE IN, WE WANT TO SERVE.
AND IF THERE'S OTHER PROPERTIES THAT ARE WITHIN A CLOSE ENOUGH REGION THAT WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO MOVE OUR ENTIRE SCHOOL ACROSS TOWN, WE WOULD LIKE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THOSE AS WELL.
