THEY DID BETTER THAN THE LAST YEAR. SO WE CAN CAPITALIZE ON THAT IN THE DOMAIN TWO A, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY SUPPORT US ALSO IN DOMAIN THREE. BUT WE ALSO SAW THAT IN DOMAIN THREE THERE ARE VERY SPECIFIC TARGETS FOR EACH OF THE SUBPOPULATIONS. FOR EASTERN HILLS, THEY ONLY HAD THE FOUR SUBPOPULATIONS THAT I PRESENTED ON WHICH THEY WERE SCORED. SO WE ARE LOOKING AT STUDENTS WHO ARE MOVING ALONG THAT CONTINUUM TO TRY TO GET TO THE MASTER'S PERFORMANCE LEVEL. THE CHALLENGE IS, IS THAT WHEN STUDENTS GET TO THAT MASTER PERFORMANCE LEVEL, THEY NEED TO STAY THERE, BECAUSE IF THEY GO BACKWARDS, WE GET ZERO POINTS. SO ONE THING THAT WE HAVE ACTUALLY PUSHED OUT INTO THE DISTRICT, ACROSS ALL THE CAMPUSES, IS THAT WE REALLY NEED TO FOCUS ON STRONG TIER ONE, BECAUSE THAT HAS THE GREATEST IMPACT ON DOMAIN ONE AND THEN DOMAIN THREE IN ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, WHICH IS 30% OF DOMAIN THREE. AND THEN ALSO IN DOMAIN THREE STUDENT SUCCESS. SO WE REALLY WANT TO HAVE A HIGH FOCUS OF THAT STRONG TIER ONE, BECAUSE THAT WILL HAVE THE HIGHEST IMPACT OF DOMAIN ONE, BECAUSE YOU CAN ONLY CAPITALIZE ON GROWTH SO MUCH. AND THAT STAFF HAS PUT A LOT OF HARD WORK AND TIME INTO THAT, WITH LOTS OF HARD DECISIONS. AND JUST TO OUR COMMUNITY. THIS IS NOT ABOUT CLOSING A SCHOOL. THIS IS ABOUT MAKING SURE THAT WE ARE BEING RESPONSIBLE AND THAT WE ARE BUILDING THE BEST SCHOOLS AND HAVING THE BEST ENVIRONMENT FOR STUDENTS WITH THE STAFF WHERE THEY NEED TO BE, AND THAT WE ARE PROVIDING A QUALITY EDUCATION TO EVERYONE. AND SO KNOW THAT WE DON'T TAKE THESE LIGHTLY, BUT THAT WE DO APPRECIATE ALL THE HARD WORK THAT EVERYBODY FROM DISTRICT LEVEL ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND ALL THE CAMPUSES THAT WILL HAVE WORK TO COME AHEAD, THAT THIS IS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF OUR STUDENTS, OUR STAFF AND OUR COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE. BUT IT IS WE UNDERSTAND THAT THE DECISIONS THAT WE STAY AT, WE WE MAKE UP HERE AND WE HAVE A VOTE AND WE RAISE OUR HANDS AND BUT THE RIPPLE EFFECTS OF THAT DOWN TO INDIVIDUAL HOMES IN THIS DISTRICT, PEOPLE'S DAILY LIVES, BOTH OUR STAFF AND OUR STUDENTS. WE HAVE THE AMOUNT OF HOURS THAT PEOPLE HAVE INVESTED IN THIS TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE LISTENING AND TO MAKING SURE THAT WE GET IT RIGHT. IS A LOT. IT IS A LOT. WE TRY TO EDUCATE KIDS ON THEIR PERFORMANCE, ON THEIR ABILITIES, AND ON OUR ABILITY TO DEFINE A CURRICULUM FOR THEM. SO THAT'S VERY, VERY DIFFICULT WHEN YOU'RE TAKING LARGE GROUPS OF KIDS. EASTERN HILLS, I'M SURE, HAS STUDENTS THAT ARE HIGH PERFORMING STUDENTS. SO WE'RE GOING TO MOVE THOSE KIDS, PERHAPS IN A SETTING WHERE THEY'RE SURROUNDED BY LOW PERFORMING STUDENTS. WHAT DOES THAT DO TO HIGH PERFORMING STUDENT WHO WANTS TO BE A NATIONAL MERIT FINALIST OR SEMIFINALIST? SO THEN ALL THE COMPLEXITIES OF THAT RESTS ON THE CLASSROOM TEACHER AND THE ADMINISTRATION THAT SUPERVISES THOSE TEACHERS. AND THAT'S ALMOST A WALK ON WATER TASKING. SO I JUST WISH PEOPLE WOULD KIND OF TAKE THAT INTO CONSIDERATION. AND FRANKLY, AT THE END OF THE DAY, THE AGENCY'S NOT GOING TO HELP US. IT ALL RESTS WITH WHAT WE DO HERE AND HOW WE'RE ABLE TO MEET THOSE STANDARDS. THANK YOU, MADAM VICE PRESIDENT. WE HAVE I MEAN, THERE'S THE 95% THAT ARE ABSOLUTELY AT THE TOP AND WITH STUDENTS AS WELL AS STUDENT BEHAVIOR AND ETC. AND THEN THERE'S ALWAYS THAT 5% MARGIN THAT IN ANY INDUSTRY, IN ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT, IN ANY COMMUNITY THAT IS GOING TO CAUSE SOME STRIFE, WHICH GIVES US BAD NAMES OR BAD MARKS IN THE PRESS. AND THE SAME WAY WITH OUR EMPLOYEES. AND SO HATS OFF TO EVERYBODY THAT WORKS HARD TO MAKE KILLEEN ISD THE BEST SCHOOL THAT WE CAN IN OUR COMMUNITY, FOR OUR MILITARY FAMILIES AND FOR ALL THE YOUNG FAMILIES AND AND US OLD FOLKS THAT CHOOSE TO STAY HERE AND LIVE AND RAISE FAMILIES OR PAY TAXES. AND SO I BELIEVE IN THIS DISTRICT. I BELIEVE IN ALL OF OUR EMPLOYEES.
